Around the World Birthday Party

We had an around the world birthday party for my son. We made little flags of different countries (fun colouring activity as well as cutting out the rectangular flags) and they helped make simple food: homemade pizza (Italy) and hotdogs (USA).

Our pudding was a multi-colored SA jelly flag on a tray. We also played some themed games: a marshmallow relay race using Chinese chopsticks, and a game played like shipwreck, except it had 4 different countries of the world at the 4 corners of the yard, and commands like "Eskimo" - rub noses; Japanese: bow deeply with hands clasped together; African lion (on all fours and roar) etc.

It was probably all very cliched, but it was a good introduction to the different world cultures for my kids as we researched the games and food for the party.
