Snow Ice-cream Recipe

Make your own homemade frozen dessert using this easy snow ice-cream recipe.

Boy in snow

This special winter recipe is so easy that you could and should let your children do the mixing.

We don't get snow in my hometown, but the lady who gave me this recipe said that she tried it and her children absolutely LOVED it!

You could make it a new family tradition to make snow ice-cream whenever it snows!

Ingredients

2 cups milk
1 cup sugar
1 Tablespoon vanilla essence
10 cups snow

Method

1. Mix milk, vanilla essence and sugar in a bowl and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
2. Scoop about 10 cups of snow into a large bowl.
3. Pour the milk mixture over the snow and stir well.
4. Serve immediately or freeze in a suitable container.

Winter Story

The Snowy Day is a classic children's story book about a little boy's day out in the snow.

A 1963 Caldecott Medal winner, this story is about a boy waking up to find that it has snowed overnight. Illustrated using watercolors and collage it depicts the freshly snow-covered landscape and the young hero's exploration of his environment.

He notices snowy footprints, knocks snow from a tree, creates snow angels and finally, he tries to to save a snowball for the next day!

Enjoy this sweet read-aloud during your winter preschool theme.
